The Historical Miniature Gaming Society - Pacific Southwest will be joining us for the first time at GameSchoolCon. This organization is a 501(c)3 charity with a focus on learning and teaching history. Their table top battles use models to represent the opposing forces as was done by real Generals before the age of the computer. The study of History helps them to grasp the size and strength of the opposing forces. Mathematics is used extensively to understand the various random factors that go into deciding which strategies have the best chance of winning. Most members assemble and paint their own models which teaches them coordination, process, organization, and patience. These games are engaging and instructive. Those of you who saw the recent film "Midway" witnessed a scene where the Admirals did not learn the lesson of the tabletop results.
